Little Me

Posted Tuesday December 14, 2004 by Martin

Last night I had the coolest view you could ask for. I watched the Geminid meteor shower from a cockpit at 31,000 feet. What an amazing thing to watch. For about an hour we saw as many as 3 or 4 “shooting stars” a minute. This was an awe inspiring thing to see and it had an almost eerie look to it.

Events like these always seem to have the ability to remind me how small I am in the big picture. Standing at the foot of the mountains in Alaska, out on the ocean on a cruise ship or watching the meteor shower, I feel small. That’s a good thing, feeling small, because I am. No matter what I accomplish in this world, I’m still a tiny piece of it and I think it’s good to keep that in perspective.

I guess meteors are good for that.

Our New Boy Is Home!

This is Hoss at the adoption kennel getting ready to go. We received word yesterday that Hoss was given a clean bill of health following his surgery and that we could come and get him. We were all thrilled because we thought we were going to have to wait until Monday.

Hoss is adjusting wonderfully to his new home. (To save confusion for those that know we are a foster dog home, Hoss is a permanent member of the Donnelly family). This guy is so gentle and happy! He loves to be loved on and thinks that licking J.R.’s face is about as fun as it gets.

I will be putting more pictures up on the dog page of this site soon. Stay tuned for more fun!

We took this shot as we were leaving for the Redbirds baseball game in Memphis. Grandpa, Martin and J.R. all dressed alike. We thought it was cool.

I’ll bet you thought the kids would have grown more by now. (Just kidding… this was six years ago but I’ve always liked the happy smiles :)

Welcome

Posted Wednesday October 23, 2002 by Martin

Welcome to the Donnelly family website. This site is new, but we hope to make this a place to keep in touch with our family and friends.

Martin is a pilot with FedEx and Dawn is a part time school teacher. Kylie is in 6th grade, Elizabeth is in 4th grade and J.R. is in first. Needless to say, we are staying very busy with jobs school and activities.

Please stop by here every now and then to see the latest photos or to hear the latest ramblings.

God Bless you.
